What I’m currently loving
Having this blog has been in my top five of “the most fun things I’ve done” when I’m not staying up late to meet deadlines or staring at a computer screen that seems to be stuck on Pinterest with a glazed over look, that is. I see a lot of great interiors and pieces that don’t always make it onto posts because they don’t suit the look or I have exceeded my personal rule of “not more that 10pictures in a post.” Today as I bring you my current favourite things, I might be inclined to ignore that rule.
I love that sign because as much as the people I share my space with love me, they are often not considerate of my CDO. Leaving coffee mugs on tables and family braai day plates next to the braai stand or half buried next to my rose bush. Clean up has a loose meaning in my house, if you take your dish and rinse it and put it in the dishwasher you have done well. “Lower your expectations, when they meet them take them high again,” pretty much sums up my approach and would be my contribution to The Art of War.
I have seen a few of these offices all over the design-loving parts of he Internet. It is an absolutely brilliant idea! A home office that can be locked away and out of sight is a wonderful space-saver.
This image reminds me of my latest favourite, Carmit’s(of Millers’) blue kitchen. Classic and elegant style is what I expected from a person who grew up around stylish antiques.
I don’t know if it’s the four-poster hangings or how comfy the bed looks. It could be the industrial and non-conformist feel of the architecture that makes me love this room. It’s an artist’s studio/home.
For my dear Lelani, a friend of books and this little blog, because I know how much she likes finding interesting spaces for books. The chandelier also looks stunning.
That open bottle of wine is not the only thing I like about this picture. The light fixtures are interesting as is the mustard sofa. The art pieces are also very beautiful; dogs truly are man’s best friends. Or maybe they’re just best friends of trend-stalking, wine-loving bookshelf dreaming women like myself.
